On-site air quality instrument acceptance
A handheld air quality instrument delivered, demonstrated and accepted on site at a fire brigade in Inner Mongolia, covering several gases on one unit.
The setting
A brigade needed one instrument that could assess air quality at an incident scene as well as perform standard four-gas entry checks.
Why it is difficult
Acceptance testing is where instruments fail quietly: the readings look plausible, but the calibration certificate covers a different range, or the response time is outside the specification.
What was deployed
Handheld instrument with gas channels plus particulate measurement, verified on site against the delivery documentation before acceptance.
Outcome
Accepted with the factory reading present. Serial numbers and acceptance records held by the factory.
