Odour and toxic gas detection for wastewater plants and municipal pump stations
Hydrogen sulphide and methane where they accumulate, with portable checks for the wells that fixed sensors cannot reach.
Wastewater is the classic confined-space problem: a wet well that reads normal at the rim can be lethal one metre down. Hydrogen sulphide is heavier than air and pools in the sump; methane collects under the cover. Neither is visible, and both build up faster in summer.
Fixed detectors handle the places people work every day: the screening room, the grit channel, the sludge thickening area, the pump room. They run continuously and alarm locally, so the risk is covered between inspections.
Portable instruments cover everything else: wells, manholes, digesters and any entry where a permanent installation is impractical. Readings taken before entry, and again at the bottom, are the only reliable check.
Where the plant reports to an environmental platform, the same data feeds odour boundary monitoring, which turns a compliance obligation into something the plant can act on.
